This echos my wife and my view exactly. In fact, we have been praying actively for many months now that we would be focussed on our IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORS [who happen to be, 3 of them, widows or spinsters whom we are commanded to help, and the 4 are aged], rather than on grand involvements. Another neighbor is dying of melanoma. Etc. When we look around, we are surprised to start seeing Christ's Body right here, right where we're at. If we can't get that right, we now are slowly understanding, what good does grand church doctrine have? Afterall, the grandest "doctrine" is that which Christ put into fleshly practice, is it not?

oh i do like that quote. and i like it from my own experience too - i ahve fuond as i draw closer to God that i make richer friendships and that life is richer and more wonderful.... perhaps it is because we are more like God, more of his character, his love in us and to us and THROUGH us...

I'm readying your sermon - the good news about adoption. I wish more people talked about the fact that Jesus was adopted. We rarely ever hear about that fact.

Wow, I was just browsing through the Wordpress tags and found your blog. I posted some thoughts on this same topic last night.

I followed this debate closely back in May 2007 when it began. I think Wilson did an excellent job of exposing a key weakness in atheism. I don't think Hitchens ever understood.
